Our Hopes And Plans

In one sentence our hope is to move to Canada, raise a family and eventually set up our own business (starting perhaps with a Bed & Breakfast and then maybe a small hotel).

To us the life-style that Canada (especially Alberta) can offer us is so much better than that in the UK. We both long for a less stressful way of life with ready access to the outdoor experience that the Rockies can provide for us. We long to have the opportunity to decide on a Saturday morning that we will go walking or climbing in the summer or skiing or ice climbing in the winter.

Canada is a young country with such a low population density and we feel that not only does the country have a lot to offer us but we have a lot to offer Canada in Return. For comparison the population density in Canada is 3.1 people per square km while in the UK the figure is 244.1 per square km.

The way of life in Canada seems to be so much more relaxed ... of course we are looking at it from outside instead of from the viewpoint of living there day in day out but we have met many people in our trips to Canada (both immigrants and people who have been there for generations) and we have taken every opportunity to ask them about the life-style they experience.
